Declaring A Major

ESPM Majors Declaration Workshops

In order to declare a major, attendance at a workshop is required.

Attendance is required in order to declare the FNR, MEB, or S&E major.

Workshop Topics: Learn about ESPM majors and policies that will help you graduate on time. Petitions to Change Major/College and Simultaneous Degree petitions will be reviewed and processed at the end of workshop.

Select one of the following workshops and RSVP with your name, preferred workshop date and intended major to espm_ug@nature.berkeley.edu after selecting one of the following:
Pre-Telebears:
• Thursday, 10/4 3:30 - 4:30 (week 6)
• Thursday, 10/11 3:30 - 4:30 (week 7)
Post-Telebears:
• Thursday, 11/14 3:30 - 4:30 (week 12)
• Thursday, 11/20 3:30 - 4:30 (week 13)
• Thursday, 12/5 3:30 - 4:30 (week 15)

Declaring CRS:

In addition to attending the required workshop, students must enroll in ESPM 90: Introduction to the CRS Major to delcare the major no earlier than the spring of your sophomore year.

Students design their Area of Interest statements and declare the major in the course.

Once declared, you will be required to meet with both the faculty advisor and the Undergraduate Staff Advisor each semester to review your academic record and progress toward the major before you receive your advisor code. You will need the advisor code to register for classes on TeleBears.
